SARNIA – Ready to make her mark in the Sunshine State.
Women’s Basketball guard Maddy Bishop has earned an invitation to attend the Eurobasket.com 2025 Women’s Final 4 Showcase, which will be held in Tampa, Florida late this year.
Bishop, a fourth-year guard from Windsor, has been a key cog in the operation for the Lions since her first season with the group back in 2021-22. Over her four-year career with the Lions, Bishop has helped the team win an OCAA Silver Medal in 2022-23 before winning Provincial Gold and National Silver medals in 2023-24.
This past season, Bishop averaged 13.9 points per game while playing a league-high 616 minutes during the regular season (38.5 per game). She added in 4.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game, while shooting 30.7% from the field and 32.2% from three-point range.
Bishop recorded at least 10 points in 11 of 16 games in the regular season, four of which saw her go for 20 or more. She set a new career-high with 27 points back on November 23rd against Mohawk, shooting 43.5% (10-for-23) from the field and 50.0% (7-for-14) from beyond the arc.
Over her four-year career with the Lions, Bishop has started every regular season game during that time (62 games). She has averaged 11.3 points or better each season, highlighted by a career-best scoring year this past season.
This invitation-only event, scheduled for 2025, is designed for top-tier college players who are looking to continue their basketball playing careers overseas.
In the past two years of this highly regarded event, more than 125 players have signed professional contracts overseas after putting their talents on display at this exclusive event. The event has been in operation for more than 10 years, and it has helped produce incredible opportunities for women’s basketball players to make the jump to professional basketball around the World.
Lambton wing Breanna Pretty was invited to attend last year’s Eurobasket.com Women’s Final 4 Showcase event in Cleveland, but she opted to return to college for her final year of eligibility this past year.
