BCI Forward Liam Tosh Commits to Lambton Men’s Basketball Program for 2025-26 Season

SARNIA – An Elite addition to the group.

Forward Liam Tosh has officially committed to Head Coach James Grant and the Lambton Men’s Basketball Program for the 2025-26 season, and beyond.

Tosh is the second member of the 2025 recruiting class for Coach Grant and company. He will join Blake Redfern (Mitchell, Ont.) as a newcomer in a Lambton uniform come September.

“Liam brings everything to the table that we are looking for in a big man,” said Grant. “He has good hands around the rim, he is mobile, he can shoot the three, and he can rebound the ball.”

“He reminds us a lot of Mike Lucier at this point in his development. Those are some large shoes to fill, but Liam seems like the type of person who wants to strive for success.”

Tosh, a six-foot-nine forward/center, comes to Lambton College from Brantford and Brantford Collegiate Institute, where he plays for the Mustangs senior boys’ basketball team. Tosh and company went 12-0 during the regular season, and have their sights set on securing an appearance at OFSAA in Kingston in early March.

Outside of high school, Tosh plays for the Hamilton Elite U19 program, the same program in which current Lions forward Alec Eder played for.

“I’m really happy with where I’m going,” said Tosh after making his college decision official in front of a sizeable group of family, friends, and loved ones. “It should be a great group of guys, so I’m really looking forward to getting to know the ones I haven’t played with before.”

“I was really excited, and a bit nervous, with everyone here supporting me today as I signed. I’m looking forward to making a bond with the guys on the team and to win some games.”

Standing at six-foot-nine, Tosh becomes the tallest player on a Lambton roster that features seven players at 6’5” or taller that are expected to return for the 2025-26 season. His versatility adds another element to the group, with his ability to score from all three levels while being effective in the paint and under the rim.

When he was asked what fans can expect to see from him on the floor come September, Tosh was quick to highlight his versatility.

“Probably a lot of threes, I’d say,” added Tosh, with a smirk. “I’m a shooter. But, definitely some dunks in there, too.”

“Fans will see a little bit of everything (from me).”

Academically, Tosh will be enrolled in the Mechanical Techniques – Plumbing Program at Lambton College.

At the collegiate level, Tosh getsto continue playing alongside Traivon Hayes, who also committed to the Lions. For Tosh, that opportunity isn't lost on him, and he's looking forward to playing alongside Hayes at the next level.

“It’s very special to me,” continued Tosh. “We’ve been playing together for a long time, so it’s kind of like a dream come true because I get to go to college with one of my best friends.”

“I’m just happy. Nothing but happy.”

Welcome to The Den, Liam!
