SARNIA, ON - In what is quickly becoming a season to forget, the Lambton Lions dropped the last game of 2016 at home to the Redeemer Royals. With the final score of 99-70, Lamton falls to 0-7 to finish off the 1st half, far below expectations from players and fans alike. 

The Tuesday night tilt showcased two of the leagues top scorers, with leading scorer Rayvon Higdon from Redeemer squaring off against fifth place Branden Padgett. The two didn't dissapoint, with both players showcasing their offensive prowess from all over the floor. The early back and forth pace of this contest suggested the night would be close, but a couple of runs by the Royals pushed their lead up to 12 early in the 2nd Quarter. It seemed on this night that every time the Lions would start to build a head of steam, Redeemer was able to hit another gear and manage to stay just a little bit ahead. By the time the half hit, Redeemer would be leading 51-35. 

In the 3rd quarter the Royals left the Lions in the dust, rattling off a 17-5 run, with foul shooting a large reason for the gap. Redeemer outscored the Lions 29-9 from the charity stripe for the game, shooting them at an 83% clip. Higdon was huge for the Royals, notching 31 points. 

Ousmane Kromah and Padgett led Lambton with 16  points each and Colton Vaters joined them in double digits with 11. Mark Lue-Hue scored 7, Jason Marshell and Xavian Edwards each had 6, Mitch Humby finished with 5 and Jay Trojek had 3. Edwards led in rebounds with 9. 

Lambton will play a tournament in Niagara before 2016 ends and will resume action in 2017.
