Murray Twins Commit to Coach Bezaire, Lambton Men’s Baseball Program for 2024 Season

SARNIA – The twin connection comes to Lambton College.

Twin brothers Kale Murray and Luke Murray (Mitchell, Ont.) have committed to Head Coach Al Bezaire and the Lambton Men’s Baseball Program for the 2024 season and beyond.

The Murray brothers are the first two commitments in the 2024 recruiting class for Bezaire and his coaching staff.

“I am beyond excited to be adding Kale and Luke Murray to our Lions family,” said Bezaire. “They encompass everything we are looking for in players when building our program.”

“They are winning ‘ballplayers’ that fit that ‘dirtbag’ mentality we want to embrace and build our identity around. They are throwback style players who work hard, play hard, hustle, get dirty, are great teammates, and who let their play on the field do the talking.”

Kale Murray is a six-foot-one pitcher / middle infielder that adds more stability to the starting rotation while adding depth in the infield. Luke Murray is a six-foot catcher / second baseman who helps to shore up the middle of the lineup defensively for the Lions.

Both are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead of them in a Lambton uniform.

“It’s exciting,” said Luke after making his commitment official. “It feels like home here so I’m looking forward to getting going with the team in September.”

Kale echoed those sentiments.

“I’m looking forward to what lies ahead here at Lambton,” added Kale. “I’m excited to meet new people, play baseball, and enjoy the overall college experience.”

The Murray twins come to Lambton College from the Mitchell Astros 18U Program where they won a provincial championship back in 2022. They won a second provincial championship that season when they were called up to the Mitchell Senior Team and added a second title to their resume.

They also spent some time with the Ontario Canes baseball program during the 2023 season.

It is rare for student-athletes to get the opportunity to play at the post-secondary level with their siblings, so both Kale and Luke are excited to continue playing alongside one another.

“It’s something that we’ve always wanted to do,” added Kale. “I’m glad that this is something we are able to do, and I can’t wait to get started.”

“I’m very excited to keep playing alongside Kale,” added Luke. “I’m happy we get to keep playing together at the collegiate level.”

Academically, both Kale and Luke will be enrolled in the Border Services Program while at Lambton College.

The Lions are coming off a 2023 season that saw the program continue to take positive strides forward. They finished with a record of 7-11, narrowly missing a spot in the post-season.

Still, there are increased levels of excitement and optimism surrounding the program heading into the 2024 season, and the Murray twins only help raise those levels.

“We took a nice step forward last season, and again with these two very nice additions to our program,” added Bezaire. “As a complement to our returning players, I am more than confident they can help bring our program even further.”

Welcome to The Den, Kale and Luke!
