Logan Buntrock Named to OCAA All-Star, All-Rookie Teams Following Standout 2023 Season

SARNIA – We got a guy.

Men’s Baseball centerfielder Logan Buntrock (Sarnia, Ont.) picked up a pair of OCAA Awards following the completion of the 2023 season. The first-year outfielder was named a Second Team All-Star while also being named to the All-Rookie Team after a standout debut season for the Lions.

Buntrock, who came to Lambton College from the highly touted Sarnia Brigade baseball organization, started his OCAA season at a scorching pace. He went 9-for-13 over his first four games, picking up four doubles and one triple while helping the Lions race out to an early 4-0 record.

While he would cool off at the plate as the season wore on, Buntrock still put together an impressive season at the plate, on the basepaths, and in the outfield.

From the leadoff spot, Buntrock put together a line of .291 / .397 / .509 at the plate. He had nine extra base hits, including seven doubles which was tied for the most in the OCAA. Against the George Brown Huskies on September 30th, he hit his first collegiate home run.

For the season, Buntrock had 15 runs scored while also driving in nine runs. On the basepaths, he stole a league-best 15 bases over the course of the season, while only being caught twice. Against the Centennial Colts on September 15th, he had a total of five stolen bases over the two-game doubleheader.

Buntrock and the Lions finished the year with a 7-11 record overall and were in contention for a playoff spot on the final day of the regular season, which was the first under Head Coach Al Bezaire. Buntrock’s awards are the first league awards for the Lambton Men’s Baseball Program in their brief history in the OCAA.

Congratulations, Bunts!
