Belle River’s Beau Elliott Commits to Lambton Men’s Baseball for 2023 Season

SARNIA – Putting pen to paper.

Beau Elliott has officially announced his commitment to Head Coach Al Bezaire and the Lambton Men’s Baseball Program for the 2023 season.

Elliott is the third member of the inaugural recruiting class for Bezaire as Head Coach of the Men’s Baseball program. Come September, Elliott will join Jake Noble (Grimsby, Ont.) and Mitchell Montague (Welland, Ont.) as newcomers on the diamond with the Lions.

“I’m very excited to be able to play baseball at the collegiate level for the Lions,” said Elliott with a smile on his face. “I’m looking forward to having my parents be able to continue watching me and supporting me at the next level.”

Coach Bezaire was quick to reciprocate that level of excitement he has with the addition of Elliott to the program moving ahead.

“We are certainly looking forward to Beau joining us his Fall and contributing to the culture we want to establish here at Lambton College,” said Bezaire. “We are very excited to add a talented arm to our pitching staff, and one that comes from such a well-respected Tecumseh Thunder AAA organization.”

“We are getting the type of player whom we’re looking to build this program around, and that’s because of the standards set by his summer club.”

Elliott, who hails from Belle River, Ontario, currently plays for the Tecumseh Thunder AAA 18U Program in nearby Windsor. While he primarily serves as a Pitcher with the Thunder, he also doubles as a middle infielder, having experience at both second base and shortstop.

As of June 6th, Elliott has appeared in four games for the Thunder on the mound, making two starts along the way. He has racked up 13 strikeouts in 13.1 innings pitched and has a 1.60 earned run average while winning both of his starts.

Earlier this season, Elliott came on in relief against the Sarnia Brigade at Errol Russell Field, which is soon to be his home diamond for the Lions. Elliott threw 2.1 innings of shutout baseball, striking out three hitters and helping the Thunder come away with a 7-5 win.

When he’s not on the mound, Elliott looks to use his speed to his advantage, both on the base paths and in the field.

“I’m more of an on-base guy,” said Elliott when asked what fans can expect from him on the diamond this year. “I’m a pretty fast runner so I like to steal some bases.”

After his graduation from Belle River District High School, Elliott will be studying in the Esports Entrepreneurship & Administration Program at Lambton College.

The Lions are coming off a 2022 season that saw the program continue to make positive strides as a program. With Bezaire now serving as Head Coach this season, and with a significant amount of roster turnover, there will be ample opportunity for newcomers like Elliott to play a significant role from the outset of the season.

The addition of Elliott not only gives the Lions a boost on the mound, but it also helps to solidify the foundation of the program for years to come.

Welcome to The Den, Beau!
