SARNIA, ON - The 2016 calendar year began on a high note for the Lambton College Men's Varsity basketball team as they defeated the Fanshawe Falcons 90-51 on Wednesday evening. The Lions were led by veteran forward Mike Lucier, who dominated on both ends of the floor, amassing a team high 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks in the contest. Branden Padgett relentlessly attacked the basket, forcing the Falcons into foul trouble throughout the game. Padgett connected on all 6 attempts from the charity stripe, contributing to his 21 points on the evening.
The Fanshawe Falcons came in to Lambton riding a 9 game losing streak, searching for their first win of the 2015-16 campaign. New transfer Jemaul Jones made his presence felt throughout the contest, finishing with a team-high 10 points and 8 rebounds.
The Lions hit the hardwood next when they play host to the Redeemer Royals on Saturday January 23rd. Game time is 3:00pm. Admission is free, but arrive early as seating is limited.

-Will Lara-Caston played in his first OCAA game for the Lions, totalling 4 points in 12 minutes
