2019-20 Lambton Lions Athletic Award Winners

2019-20 Lambton Lions Athletic Award Winners

The 2019-20 season is in the books, and what a year it was for the Lambton Lions across the board.

From playoff appearances and long droughts coming to an end to memorable individual performances, it was a banner year for the Lions, even if no new banners were hung.

Our Men's Soccer team ended a 25-year playoff drought when they advanced to the OCAA Crossover Game. It was our debut season in Men's Baseball, and while their elusive first win is still out there, it was a strong start to the Lions' tenure on the diamond. Both Basketball programs advanced to the 2020 OCAA Championships after strong finishes in the regular season, and the Men's Basketball team left it all on the floor in front of a packed house inside the Lambton College Athletics & Fitness Complex as the host institution.

The Lambton FireFit team continued its run fo success all season long, while our ESports program continued to grow with each passing tournament.

However, our student-athletes and their achievements go far beyond the field of play. They have excelled in the classroom, putting the STUDENT in student-athlete. A total of 24 Lions were named OCAA All-Academic award winners, highlighting their achievements and successes away from sport.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we had to cancel our 2019-20 Athletic Awards Banquet, which was scheduled for Tuesday, April 7th. Like many other schools across Canada, we've had to improvise. With that, throughout the week of April 13-17, 2020, our Award Winners will be honoured throguh Social Media posts, highlighting their achievements over the course of the 2019-20 season.
